Social Innovation Bar MITA

◎Social Innovation Bar MITA(SIBM)

'We want 100 per cent traceability.’ To achieve that, Unilever is cutting the number of small farmers who supply its palm oil – by 80 per cent, according to Neath, who calls it 'a cull… to ensure standards’. The cull is a difficult fit with one of Polman’s other promises, to make lives better for his smallholder suppliers. 'It’s a trade-off,’ Klintworth admitted.
