vol.4 水平展開

こんにちは！あーちゃんこと平田彩恵です。

今回のテーマである「水平展開」は、いの研内では「スケールアウト」と呼んだりもします。

この「Scale Out」、言ってみればソーシャルイノベーションの肝になる部分で、07年の春のいの研グループワークがこのテーマだったのですが、ソーシャルイノベーションに関わるあらゆるテーマがこの「水平展開」に関わっている！と思いながら勉強していました。
コラムでは、簡単にまとめることに主眼を置いていますが、ぜひ読んでみてください！

インターン生平田による、ソーシャルベンチャーレポート。
大学での学びを活かして、ソーシャルベンチャーとしてのフローレンスについて、ご説明できたらと思います。

水平展開、なんだか聞きなれない言葉です。ではソーシャル・フランチャイズと言い換えてみましょう。今度は、分かり易くなりましたでしょうか。そうです、水平展開というのは簡単に言ってしまえば、ソーシャルイノベーションを、ビジネスのフランチャイズモデルのように展開、拡大することを指します。

もっと具体的に見てみましょう。例えばフローレンスの非施設型病児保育事業がとてもうまくいくモデルだったとしましょう。フローレンスのモデルを実行すれば、病児保育で困る親御さんはいなくなるとします。しかし当然ですが、フローレンスの活動範囲が江東区だけでは、江東区の病児保育問題は解決できても、他の地域の病児保育問題は解決されないままです。つまり、病児保育という社会問題を解決するためには、フローレンスのモデルを広げることを考えなければいけません。

また、水平展開を行うことで、社会問題解決のスピードが上がることは確かですが、私たちフローレンスがいきなり全国展開します！と言うのは、難しいお話です。

そこで、フローレンスでは、現在、フローレンスのモデルを全国に広げていくために私たちの普段の業務を、ノウハウ化することを目指しています。フローレンスだけでは解決できない全国の病児保育問題に対し、志のある方がだれでも取り組めるようにすることが目的です。一般のビジネスであれば、ビジネスモデルを隠しながら市場の独占を狙うことも珍しくありません。しかし、社会問題の解決を目的とするソーシャルベンチャーにおいては、モデルを隠すことよりも、社会に公開し、一人でも多くの人がその解決に向けて一緒に活動していけるようにすることが重要だと考えられます。

フローレンスは、子育てと仕事の両立が可能な社会に向けて、フローレンスモデルをよりよいものにしていくのと同時に、より多くの方々の協力を得ながら、これからも活動して参りたいと思っております。

Uganda leaders have cases to answer in the DC plunder and northern Uganda, and there are many juntas; despots and warlords in Africa. Right now the international community is spending much money,losing personnel in DRC due to the hegemony of some war lords and regimes fanning violence there. The African leaders are advocating for the immunity of sitting presidents because they know that they will cling to power. E.g. Uganda , Rwanda etc. So the notion that regimes holding citizens at ransom can pull out of ICC or make any orders and give ultimatums to ICC is the most ludicrous suggestion these tyrants can make. They instead should be begging ICC for mercy not giving it ultimatum. If any nation withdraws , the international community should even exponentially increase the pressure and not allow any such leaders on any international fora or function, put sanctions on the regime leaders and stop all aid that goes to help directly to their militia that includes child soldiers they forcefully recruit & call an army
