インターン生平田による、ソーシャルベンチャーレポート。
大学での学びを活かして、ソーシャルベンチャーとしてのフローレンスについて、ご説明できたらと思います。

 　前回、前々回と、ビジネスと行政サービスの比較でソーシャルベンチャーを捉えてきましたが、ソーシャルベンチャーは、端的に言うならば、ソーシャルイノベーションを起こす組織、とも定義することができます。
 
 　では、そもそもソーシャルイノベーションとは一体どんなことなのでしょうか？？イノベーションというと、日本語では技術革新であったり、技術刷新という風に訳されることがありますが、ソーシャル分野におけるイノベーションというと、いまいち、ぴんときませんよね。
 
 　ソーシャルイノベーション、すなわち、ソーシャルベンチャーの文脈におけるイノベーションは、社会のシステムそのものを変えてしまうことだと定義して、話を進めましょう。

 　例えば、印刷の技術が誕生した！というのは、いわゆる技術革新です。次に、これを利用して、「教科書」というものを考案すること、これがソーシャルイノベーションにあたる部分です。教科書のない世界を考えてみてください。どんなに優秀な教師であっても、教科書がなければ十分な理解を得られる生徒は二桁にはいきません。ここに教科書を導入する。すると、教師の能力に頼ることなく、知識の伝達が圧倒的に多くの生徒に対して可能になります。
 
 　フローレンスの例で見てみましょう。フローレンスで特徴とされる、月々掛け捨てで会費をいただく「共済型」という仕組みそのものは目新しいものではありません。従来の保険もそうですし、アイドルのファンクラブにしろ、何かの会員になる際にはあたり前に使われているものですね。しかし、この仕組みが今まで病児保育の世界には全く使われていなかったのです。この「共済型」を病児保育業界に取り入れることで事業として成り立たせることができれば、それは一つのイノベーションになるに違いないと私たちは確信しています。
 
 　ソーシャルベンチャーは、日々、イノベーションを起こしながら社会問題に取り組んでいます。様々なソーシャルベンチャーのイノベーションがどんなところにあるのかぜひ探ってみてください。
